Referral Information
For an offender to be accepted into the Sexual Offender Treatment Program, he/she should have been convicted of a sexual offense. If the client has charges or allegations without having been convicted, they may consider other treatment options that are available to them within the Center for Life Skills Development. These options may be discussed with Jennifer Balistreri, LMSW at 520.546.1642.

Intake
Intake involves a minimum of two individual sessions completing agency paperwork consisting of program agreements, consent to treatment, release of information, and a psycho/social/sexual history. Additionally, a clinical interview and individualized sex offender-specific and static risk assessments are completed for a comprehensive evaluation.

Assessment
Assessments are initially used to determine appropriate treatment placement. Ongoing assessment is used to measure and evaluate changes in arousal, thinking, and attitudes. The Sexual Offender Treatment Program utilizes the following assessments:

◊ Abel Assessment for Sexual Interest-2(TM)
◊ Multiphasic Sex Inventory II (MSI)
◊ Million Clinical MultiAxial Inventory-III (TM)

Treatment Approaches
The Sexual Offender Treatment Program utilizes group and/or individual modalities. Methods of treatment utilze a combination of psychoeducational, cognitive behavioral, and relapse prevention treatment approaches. Additionally, CLSD supports a collaborative approach to community supervision.

Female Offenders
Female offenders, like cognitively disabled and adolescent offenders, need separate group and individual services. Their treatment will entail different schema of modules, different styles of benchmarks, and gender-specific needs.

Juvenile Offenders
Treatment emphasis for young/adolescent offenders is focused more on psychoeducational and experiential approaches with importance in exploring developmental stages. Family systems are encouraged to be actively involved in adolescent treatment, with goals of reunification if appropriate.

Program Design
There are two program tracks: a Standard Track and a Statutory Offense Track.
Each track consists of treatment phases with specific benchmarks such as offense layout, autobiography, offense chain/cycle, relapse prevention planning, and victim letters.
CLSD
1. Standard Track
The Standard Track is designed for molestation offenders, incest offenders, and sexual assault offenders (rape) whose victim is significantly younger than the offender. Hands-off offenders convicted of voyeurism, exhibitionism, possession of child pornography strongly suggests arousal to children, but this is not always true.
2. Statutory Offense Track
The Statutory Offense Track includes sexual assault and molestation offenders whose victim is closer in age when there are no other indicated issues of inappropriate arousal or patterns of preying or manipulation. This track is much shorter than the Standard Track with a somewhat different array of modules and benchmarks.
