The Center for Life Skills Development, L.L.C. was developed through the collaborative efforts of Mark Nichols and Roberta Lewusz in the Spring of 2000. Together, they have over thirty years of experience in counseling, administration, and education.
The Center provides cost effective quality services, for individuals, children, families, couples and group counseling. Currently we provide English, Spanish, Korean and Turkish speaking services for individuals, couples, families, and groups. The Center has provided training to multiple agencies and organizations, including Federal agencies, County agencies including Adult Probation staff, and Drug Court. In December of 2005, the Center became the sole treatment provider for the Drug Court in Pima County from 2005-2010. We have a working relationship with the Oracle Court to provide professional services for them at their court house site.
In September of 2002, the Center applied to the Arizona Department of Health Services to provide DUI screening, education, and treatment services as a counseling Outpatient Clinic. These applications were approved in November 2002. The initial survey resulted in a deficiency free evaluation by licensure and this standard of excellence continues today.
The Center relocated in November 2002 for additional space due to growth. This enabled the Center to sign an Affiliation Agreement with the University of Phoenix, allowing The Center to provide educational and counseling services to graduate level students in the Master of Counseling Program. All students work under the direct supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor and their services are made available to clients at a reduced rate. In 2006 this program was expanded to include an intern site for the Bachelor of Human Services Program. The Center provides various workshops and seminars throughout the year to businesses and other organizations.
The Center is fully licensed through the Department of Health Services and presently has 20 therapist and five clerical staff ready to meet the emotional, behavioral, and spiritual counseling needs of our great community.
